Pianist Dr. Benjamin Moritz

Elgun and Dr. Benjamin Moritz have
performed chamber music recitals
throughout Turkey and the Turkish Republic
of Northern Cyprus. Their repertoire
includes Turkish and American composers,
as well as other standard chamber music.
They are also active performing new works,
having given the world-premiere of a work
by Russell Sarre in addition to
performances of Piazzola and Liebermann
works. In 2004 they performed in Istanbul,
Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Famagusta and
Mersin. That tour included a concert in
the prestigious Istanbul Philharmonic
Society Chamber Music Series and a concert
at the Mersin State Opera House. After
receiving acclaim for their 2004 tour,
Elg¸n and Moritz were invited to do a
similar tour this past year. Their 2005
tour added clarinetist Rebecca Tout and
was partially sponsored by the American
Embassy. It included performances at
Bursa's Tayyare Cultural Center, the
Ankara Turkish-American Association and
Istanbul's Yildiz Technical University.
