"Voices
Took Audience's Breath Away!"
On May 4th, TAWSF was
proud to present a voice recital by Suna Avci and
Erin Alp's at the Unitarian Church of Naperville.
This was a wonderful opportunity to become
aquainted with several of our talented Turkish
youth. Suna performed various pieces e.g. Carmen,
Madam Butterfly, Cats, and Chorus Line, while Erin
sang pieces from Dichmont, Clokey, Scarlatti and
others. They were accompanied on the piano by
Teresa Avci and Emre Motan. The former is Suna's
mother and a teacher of music. Emre, a talented
young Turk, plans to attend Northwestern University
in the Fall. Suna, a junior in high school hopes to
pursue her advanced education in the field of
music, and Erin is looking forward to the study of
'film'. These talented, bright students who are an
inspiration to our young generation were watched
and listened to with eagerness and enthusiasm. It
was an evening full of beautiful emotions and
sounds. We wish them every success and lots of good
luck for the future. TAWSF is very proud of them.
